Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie by Hans-Jürgen Möller, Gerd Laux, Hans-Peter Kapfhammer

By Hans-Jürgen Möller, Gerd Laux, Hans-Peter Kapfhammer

--Dipl.-Psych. Wolfgang Schulz

Social Amnesia A Critique of Contemporary Psychology by Russell Jacoby

By Russell Jacoby

This e-book is a masterpiece in its appreciation of a strand of Freud's writing that's really radical, and that is overlooked either by means of Freud's critics and via his American scientific exponents. Jacoby's paintings indicates the way in which conformism creeps not just into American pop psychology, but in addition into American psychoanalysis. His is a liberationist Freud, and his account of yankee conformists (largely the humanistic psychologists) is particularly telling in regard to their inner contradictions and their lack of the deeply severe, stressed measurement which makes Freud's considering so alive. This booklet is intensely crisply written. It has a good many very fantastic traces, e.g. ''what Marx acknowledged of Bentham, that he was once a genius of bourgeois stupidity, may be stated of Maslow, other than that Maslow was once no genius.'' One has the feel that it was once crafted by means of a brain on fireplace.
